Tim Tebow: Kansas City Chiefs Should Look to Acquire Popular Quarterback

The New York Jets' Tim Tebow experiment is obviously an epic fail. This should allow another team to take advantage of the popular quarterback. The best team for that would be the Kansas City Chiefs.

Therefore, the quarterback can end up anywhere next year. Among all of the options, the Chiefs make the most sense.

In order for Tebow to succeed, he needs the perfect set of circumstances around him. He is not a drop-back passer that will pick apart a secondary. He needs help to win games.

The Denver Broncos were able to provide a solid defense, a great running game and receivers that were able to make plays after the catch.

During the magical six-game winning streak in 2011, the defense held opponents to 13 or fewer points in four of the games. In the other two, Willis McGahee provided big games with over 100 yards rushing.

Even if Tebow had started all year for New York, it would not have been a success. Both the defense and the run game were too inconsistent to trust. In addition, the receivers were inexperienced and struggled all season.

However, Kansas City has the pieces to form a winning team if it finds the right quarterback.

Running back Jamaal Charles is currently third in the NFL with 1,456 rushing yards. He would be the perfect complement for Tebow if the two run a zone-read option together. Defenses will be forced to make a decision who to stop and either one can beat them.

The passing game will also be successful with a number of weapons that include Dwayne Bowe, Dexter McCluster, Jon Baldwin and Tony Moeaki. All of these players are capable of making tough catches and making things happen once they get the ball.kansas city chiefs jerseys, nfl nike jerseys wholesale

With these players, you would think that the Chiefs' offense would be rolling all year. Unfortunately, the quarterbacks have done nothing but hold the unit back.

Brady Quinn and Matt Cassel combined for eight touchdowns and 20 interceptions this season. Even when the team starts to drive down the field, a turnover halts them in their tracks. This has caused the Chiefs to be the lowest scoring team in the NFL with only 13.9 points per game.

In addition, the turnovers have hurt the defense by forcing them to defend with a short field behind them. The Chiefs are No. 25 in points allowed despite the fact that they are No. 17 in yards allowed. kansas city chiefs jerseys, nfl nike jerseys wholesale

One thing you can say for Tebow is that he does not turn the ball over. In 2011, Tebow only threw six interceptions for a rate of 2.2 percent. This is half as often as the Quinn/Cassel combination this year.

Tebow does not have the best accuracy, but it is only slightly worse than the current options and his intangibles make it a major upgrade.
